Captain Phil Unicomb

Captain Phil Unicomb is the chief pilot, chief flying instructor and managing director of Air Action Pty Ltd. Phil is well known and respected in the Aviation Industry and has over 30 years of flying experience and has accumulated over 11000 hours.

Phil has achieved great success during his flying career including 16 Championship Titles in Aerobatics, Formation Flying and Air Racing. Among these are 7 Australian Championship Titles and former World Tiger Moth Aerobatics Champion (UK).

Some of Phil's other qualifications include:

  • Specialist Advances Flight Instructor for 18 years.
  • Former Corporate Pilot for Weldon International.
  • Air Display Pilot for 25 years.

Phil has a wide range of experience in many aircraft types, including warbirds both piston and jet, vintage aircraft, multi engine aeroplanes and seaplanes, many high performance aerobatic craft as well as ultra lights.

In the early 1990's Phil and flying partner Dave Freedman (former RAAF Mirage pilot) toured internationally with their Pitts Special formation aerobatics team "The SkyAces".
